Today is a rest day so we did not have to get up too early. After breakfast, John toodled off to the laundry room to do a load of washing (we're trying to keep it down so we don't have customs going through a huge pile of dirty laundry - ha!!) and then after I had hung up the washing, we went off to find the local Chippy to enjoy a fish and chip lunch. We found the Jolly Fryer and really did enjoy our lunch out of the paper, what a shame it has taken us 3 1/2 weeks to find it!

The peace and serenity of this place is what I am going to miss so much. There is no loud music anywhere, no kids screaming, no cars doing burn-outs, just little deer standing around our lodge going "meep". It is hard to describe what this park is like, because it's not your usual caravan park, it is a selection of static vans (no wheels on them) that are set into a hillside overlooking the national park area and there are three lodges at the front of them all, Stag Lodge, Doe Lodge and Fawn Lodge - Stag Lodge has 2 bedrooms which are both ensuite, a lounge area with log heater, leather sofas and smart TV, a lovely modern kitchen with all Russell Hobbs appliances (in red) and a huge gas stove, fridge & freezer and dishwasher and a dining room. The decor is a red tartan, and central heating keeps us toasty and warm.

Doe Lodge is very similar, but with only 1 bathroom and the decor is green.

Fawn Lodge is for couples and has only 1 bedroom with a spa bath and the decor is brown.

The park has a very immaculately clean laundry room, next to the heated pool complex which can be hired out, with the water being 4ft 6ins deep, soothingly warm and no one watching when it's your turn to hire it!

What better holiday could we have asked for, when we can wake up to the panoramic views of deer, rabbits, foxes and squirrels on the hillside and around us, trees gently dropping their leaves and turning every shade from yellow to red - this place has been magic for all three of us. We have been comfortable, independent, close to all amenities (including our wonderful cousins!!!!), well fed, relaxed......yup folks, I'm going to miss this so much!

By the way, we found a bottle of red wine (Australian of course!) Yellow tail “"Jammy Red Roo", hoping we can find it when we get home - we bought a bottle with some chocolates for the very lovely owner of this establishment, Trevor and his family, for taking such good care of us while we have been here. They are really nice people, despite someone writing a review online and calling him "cranky Trevor"...just not true. Hope they enjoy a bit of Aussie wine!
